Wow, That Was A Lot Of Information...
David zum Brunnen talks fast, really fast. But his students at Clarkton School of Discovery were able to keep up with him. In 90-minutes zumBrunnen introduced The Widom Givers project, teaching students proper interview, transcribing and editing techniques for creating documentary theater. Students laughed and engaged in exciting dialogue as he put forth the plan to collect information from the wisdom givers of Bladen County, NC.
Discovering the Interview Process
The fIrst day of The Wisdom Givers playmaking process begins with instruction from David zum Brunnen on the interview process.
Students experienced and participated in bad interview vs. good interview practices.
Students practiced transcribing an interview.

Hello Clarkton School of Discovery!
Dear Students,
We are so excited about coming to your school to conduct an Arts-In-Education residency.
Together we will create a piece of live theatre from the collection of wisdom from your community. We expect to laugh and learn and enlighten each other with our discoveries. We are truly looking forward to it! See you next week.
